Metta in action

The Abhayaratna Trust exists to relieve financial hardship and its consequences when it arises among individual members of the Triratna Buddhist Order.

We do this by giving practical aid to Order members in the form of cash grants, non-financial support and running individual appeals. We also develop Sangha Support Networks to organise local help for Order members in need.

Projects 2025

The retreat for Order membes aged 65+, 12th - 17th October, organised by the Abhayaratna Trust in collaboration with Adhisthana, will include Paramartha sharing something of Bhante's journey through ageing - how he held on to his vision and practice even as ageing and the inevitability of death unfolded in his life. You can book here

Current appeals

Please donate to help us raise £6,500 for Savika, who is currently experiencing severe financial difficulty.

You can read the full appeal letter and how to donate here.

Success Stories

Our recent appeal for Guhyavajra, raised the £2,800 needed for him to buy an ebike, which he needed to stay mobile as caretaker at Sudarshanaloka.

He writes, ‘Ebikes are expensive items …. so your generosity is greatly appreciated and valued. Also thanks to the team of magicians at Abhayaratna Trust who can make things happen and positively affect Order Members lives. What an Order we have - quite remarkable.’
