N.B. We are very pleased to say that the target for this appeal of £5200 has been reached. Thank you to those who have generously donated to the appeal and helped improve Upekshadevi’s quality of life. Upekshadevi needs our support. We are asking you to consider her situation and help her if you can. Upekshadevi was ordained in 2010 and lives near Brighton. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2003. This serious and degenerative disease makes Upekshadevi’s life very difficult emotionally, physically and mentally and, as the disease is progressing, end of life care is part of what she is having to consider. Recently the opportunity arose for Upekshadevi to have much needed overnight care and companionship from a fellow Order member, a longstanding friend. To facilitate this it was necessary to move into a two bedroom flat (no local authority property being available within a year).
